Fred and his friend, Anjali, find it tough enough keeping out of the way of the vicious local bullies, the Baxters. But now they're trying to look after an injured fox, which the Baxters want killed because they think it's a menace. When Fred and the fox seek refuge in the old, abandoned house that's meant to be haunted, he doesn't reckon on gaining an ally in the ghost is residence - that's if there really is a ghost, of course . . .
