During the late spring, summer, and early fall, Ann Kurz
Chambers lives on thirty-fi ve acres that she owns in the
mountains of western Colorado. Over the past ten years she
has identifi ed more than 155 wildfl owers on her property
and painted them in watercolors for this book. For clarity,
each plant is identifi ed by genus and species followed by
the common name or names that the fl ower is known by in
Colorado. A complete set of fi eld notes includes details
such as a description of the fl ower, the location where it
was found, the physical characteristics of the plant, when
the fl ower bloomed, and what the plant's fruit, if any,
looks like. There is also a detailed drawing of the property
and a moisture map with typical plant locations identifi ed.
