The 'Collins Real-World Technology' series is intended for students aged 14 to 19 studying design and technology subjects for National Curriculum, GCSE, Standard Grade and vocational courses. Through a series of selected industrial examples, these books relate the knowledge, skills and techniques required by students to industrial and commercial practices. This enables students' technological experiences to be firmly placed within a real-world context. The industrial examples show how manufacturers regularly employ specialised skills and techniques in their everyday work and show how these are clearly related to the students' own work.
