The Honourable Henry N. R. Jackman Collection comprises nearly 5,000 lead-alloy toy soldiers manufactured by the English firm of Britains Ltd. between 1893 and 1966 as well as miscellaneous figures from other makers. Includes British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Marines, and Royal Air Force, Commonwealth figures, armies of the world, tanks, cannons, wagons, trucks, motorcycles, and the royal coronation coach of Elizabeth II. Corey Keeble discusses the collection in the context of the history of the Britains firm, casting techniques, model changes, decoration (painting), size and scale, base shapes and markings, set numbers, and boxes/labels.
