Since the early days of the twentieth century, tractor manufacturers from around the world have enthusiastically offered their machines to Australian farmers. In many instances the tractors were unsuitable and only a token few were sold. Others enjoyed volume sales and became familiar sights across the rural landscape.
This book presents a cross-section of the more interesting tractors which came to Australian from Great Britain, Europe and North America, together with some of the indigenous Australian designs, and has described them in a manner which makes them come alive to the reader. Not just about farm tractors, it also contains some cameo insights into the early days of rural Australia.
