I love Aussie YA, particularly the ones that dip into the fantasy/sci fi realm. This one didn't quite live up to my expectations: despite an intriguing premise, the plot felt very by-the-numbers. But I am fussy. It is competently and confidently written, with a sequel to come. Worth a look to support the locals. - Amy (QBD)
