"Books are the legacies that great genius leaves to mankind." - Joseph Addison
The process of making books is fascinating, right from the inception of an idea until it is delivered to the bookshelf, a book never loses its appeal.
Written by Alison Aprhys - a writer, publisher and former Managing Director of BookStaff - the main theme is to provide career-seekers with an insight into the world of publishing. This will provide direction for both school-leavers and "career changers" to pursue and (hopefully) achieve a career in publishing.
Issues that are addressed include: job descriptions - everything from editors, publishers, proofreaders, etc; courses and education requirements; remuneration; interviews with prominent people in the publishing industry; handy referrals for places to find listed jobs; and relevant associations and professional bodies.
