The first biography of Royal Naval petty officer Edgar Evans of Scott's fatal Antarctic expedition. Scott selected Evans for both Antarctic expeditions (1901 and 1910) for his sense, skill, strength and courage. He was included as one of the final five who reached the South Pole on 17th January 1912. However, he was the first to die. 17th February 2012 is the 100th anniversary of Evans' death.
