This book presents Bruno Taut's Horseshoe Estate in Berlin by means of photos and plans and introduces "Taut's Home", a rentable house in the style of the 1920s The architect Bruno Taut (1880-1938) is regarded as a master of colourful building, setting new standards worldwide with his estates. Especially the housing estate known as "Hufeisensiedlung" in Berlin-Britz, built from 1925 to 1932, is internationally recognised as a key work of reform-oriented housing. The colourful estate, which was designed with lots of green spaces, is grouped around a 350-metre long building complex, spectacularly curved in the shape of a horseshoe. The building ensemble is a reflection of the urban development model "light, air and sun for everyone" and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008.
