The Legend of Wukong is set against the backdrop of Journey to the West, one of China's four classic novels, recounting the legendary life of Wukong and the many challenges he faced on his pilgrimage. The journey from the birth of the Stone Monkey to his title as the Victorious Fighting Buddha is brought to life through vivid scenes presented in the product, allowing you to progressively complete the assembly while retracing Wukong's path along the Journey to the West.
Sun Wukong was born from an immortal stone at the universe's creation. He became the Monkey King by leading monkeys to the Water Curtain Cave. After an elderly monkey's death during a celebration, he pondered immortality and sought knowledge. Guided by a woodcutter, he reached Evil Moon Three Star Cave, where Master Subodhi took him as a disciple, naming him Sun Wukong. He learned the 72 Transformations and cloud-summoning techniques, transforming from a mischievous monkey into a powerful warrior.
On their journey west, in order to eat the meat of the Longevity Monk, the White Bone Demon sets traps to capture him, but Sun Wukong sees through her schemes and defeats her multiple times. However, Tang Seng misunderstands Wukong, believing he is killing innocents, and expels him from the group. Taking advantage of this, the White Bone Demon kidnaps Tang Seng. Upon hearing the news, Wukong rushes to rescue him and ultimately defeats the White Bone Demon. The master and disciple reconcile and continue their journey.
Sun Wukong was expelled to Flower-Fruit Mountain by Tang Seng for killing bandits. Meanwhile, the Six-Eared Macaque disguised himself as Wukong, injuring Tang Seng and stealing their belongings. Seeking to avenge his master, Sand Monk went to Flower-Fruit Mountain to find Wukong, only to find two Wukongs battling, making it impossible to identify the real one. In the end, they sought the Buddha, who revealed the Six-Eared Macaque’s true identity and subdued him.
Sun Wukong fought demons and monsters along the journey, undaunted by hardships and difficulties. After enduring eighty-one trials, he ultimately gained the Buddha's recognition. Not only did he achieve the qualification for immortality, but he was also bestowed the title of Victorious Fighting Buddha.
