Bomb Hunters is the story of the British Army's elite team of bomb disposal experts who every day face death in the most lethal country on earth - Afghanistan. The Improvised Explosive Device 'IED' operators, as they are known, are locked into a deadly game of cat and mouse with the Taliban. To survive, the Bomb Hunter must be at the top of his game in analysing the risks and how to deactivate the thousands of devices the insurgents have planted, as well as being very lucky. As the British public have already seen over then past year; one mistake, a single lapse of concentration, can result in a tragic fatality, with a one in four chance of this happening every time they go out on patrol.
Ex British paratrooper, Sean Rayment, enters the heat and dust of Helmand Province, to meet and report alongside these courageous men as they daily put their lives on the line to prevent the British troops being maimed or killed by these deadly devices. He interviews them whilst performing their duties on the frontline, as well as paints a picture of what life is like for soldiers who have to play 'life and death' poker every day, knowing their enemy watches their every move, waiting for a weakness to show, or error to be made.
