Exhausted after a hard day trench-digging, Roley goes to bed. After a long night's sleep, he rolls out of the yard towards Spud's field. But Roley hasn't woken up yet! Roley causes havoc as he trundles along, leaving a trail of destruction behind him. But danger lies ahead. Roley is heading for a trench. Will Bob and the other machines realise what has happened? Will they be able to save him?
