To begin with Colm's childhood was idyllic. Life on a farm in County Wexford with loving parents was good. But evil was never far away and no one could protect him from the men in the village who preyed on children. The little boy was horrifically abused and stunned by the horrors he'd endured. Now he was vulnerable.The dangers that lurked in the power of the Catholic church had long been hidden and so it was beyond belief to Colm when he was targeted by one of its own priests.Years of pain followed before Colm eventually broke free but by that time his relationship with his beloved father had been destroyed. It would take many more years of heartache before slowly but surely, he found the strength to fight back.The little boy who'd been betrayed by the church grew up to be the man who blew the whistle on decades of systemic child abuse by priests in Ireland.
