'New York Times' bestselling author Sabrina Jeffries continues her School for Heiress series with the spell-binding tale of a mysterious highwayman out for revenge, felled by the one woman he should never love...
"Someone's going to call your bluff someday, Venetia -- you'd better hope it's not a handsome man." -- Mrs. Charlotte Harris, headmistress.
Lady Venetia Campbell's visit to her childhood home in Scotland takes a dramatic turn when she's kidnapped at pistol point by her father's sworn enemy. Sir Lachlan Ross is widely feared in his guise as The Scottish Scourge, but Venetia remembers her former neighbour as a handsome youth whose attentions she craved. Now a wickedly sexy man, Lachlan's appeal is even more intoxicating... and much more dangerous. Though Lachlan tries to treat her as his foe, his scorching kisses tell another story. And despite his plan to use her as a weapon against her father, Venetia is determined that Lachlan's lust for revenge will be trumped by an even more powerful desire...
More from the School for Heiresses
Sabrina Jeffries began with the School for Heiresses short story collaboration and has gone on to create a successful series of full length novels (this is the 3rd novel and 4th in the series) with each heroine a graduate of or affiliated with, the school in some way. Jeffries' humour runs through the series and in this tale we get Venetia's story. With a mystery man with the sobriquet The Scottish Scourge plaguing her father and ultimately kidnapping Venetia herself mayhem ensues. As always a highlight of the book is the ongoing correspondence at the beginning of each chapter between Charlotte principal of the school and her benefactor 'Cousin Michael', this relationship continues and ties all the books together although each can be read as a stand alone. I thoroughly recommend Beware a Scot's Revenge and the School for Heiresses series if you are looking for a light and entertaining read.
