When her teenage grandson is discovered with a snuff film on his phone, the governor of the state of Washington turns to an old friend, J. P. Beaumont, for help. The Seattle private investigator has witnessed many horrific acts over the years, but this one ranks near the top: a girl strangled to death while an unseen camera looks on.
