AUTHOR: Luca Maroni, the most famous name in the oenological field in Italy. Born in Rome, Luca Maroni graduated with Honours in Business aEconomics in 1986. Between 1987 and 1989 he worked with Luigi Veronelli, wrote for L'Etichetta magazine and founded Ex Vinis, Italy's first wine-oriented newsletter. In September 1990, Luca started the Lm editing company by creating The Taster of Wine, a magazine dedicated to wine and wine tasting. Since 1993 he has been writing the Annuario dei Migliori Vini Italiani, a report on the oenological production within major Italian winemaking companies currently at its 19th publication. In 1995 he penned the 'Wine tasting' entry for the Treccani Italian Encyclopedia. From the beginning of his career up to date, he has been writing and editing 57 volumes on wine; tutoring more than 10,000 people and collaborating with more than 1,000 oenologists of the most prestigious Italian wineries. From 1989 to 2012, Luca Maroni has tasted over 20,000 wines.
