Bath time is fun. Until you pull the plug. What's that terrible sound? It sucks at the water and tears at the air. It bangs on the pipes and floor. It's the Bath Monster and there's nowhere to hide.
John Danalis based this story on the experience of a five-year-old friend, Andrea, who, like his own brother, was born hearing impaired. When she was given a supersonic hearing aid, suddenly the sounds that were ordinary to others became terrifying to her. Bath time became the most terrifying time of the day. She was so frightened by the sound of the water gurgling down the plug hole that she would rip her hearing aid out of her ear!
'Bath Monster' is a fresh new treatment of the perennial theme of young children's fears.
