Cannes life be this Nice? A romp on the Riviera . . .
Kate, a journalist in a small northern town, suspects there's more to life than covering black-pudding competitions for the 'Slackmucklethwaite Mercury' and living with Mum, Dad and Gran in a semi called Wits End. When evil tycoon Peter Hardstone takes over the 'Mercury', slashes budgets, sacks staff and brings the paper to its knees, it seems matters can't get much worse.
Things look up with the arrival of Hardstone's handsome, smooth and sexy son Nat. And when Kate gets to cover the glamorous Cannes Film Festival, it seem life has turned the corner at last. But is it all fun in the Provencal sun, and is the postcard-perfect village of Ste Jeanne quite everything it seems?
