The first book in the Awakening series. Ingrid Barendse lives a normal life, working as a maintenance administrator in Holland. Unknown to her colleagues, Ingrid secretly yearns for a deeper understanding of the universe and after a message appears on her powered down computer screen from the mysterious POWAH, she starts on a journey to achieve Ascension and be awakened to her true self. The planet is in serious trouble as global warming affects temperature, sea levels and climate in a way that it never has before. Ingrid Barendse, an every day woman who desires a deeper understanding of the universe is contacted by POWAH, an unknown force who informs her of the Awakening Clan. A group of people who are on a journey to Ascension and self discovery. Ingrid gets the opportunity to join the Awakening Clan and is lead by fate to achieve a higher level of consciousness allowing her to rise above the earthly plane and become more in tune with the cosmos. The concept of Ascension is presented to the reader interwoven between grippingly written fiction that makes the topic of Ascension much more accessible than before. The Awakening Clan is the first novel in the Awakening series. It is followed up by The Astral Explorer.
