The concise edition of Australian Native Plants includes more than 1500 species and cultivars that are easy to obtain and grow, many illustrated with colour photographs.
Plants are divided into chapters: Ground covers, rockery plants, water features, shrubs, trees, annuals and bedding plants, and climbers.
There are recommended planting zones for every plant, colour-coded to correspond with a map at the front of the book plus symbols indicating the significant attributes of each species, such as frost-hardiness, bird-attracting, scented plants, attractive fruits and tropical plants. Other information includes simple advice on propogating plants from seed and cuttings, soil preparation, planting, fertilising, watering, pruning, pests and diseases.
