A sparkling romantic comedy and hilarious behind-the-scenes satire on the wedding industry and the world of publishing . . .
Oscar Campbell hates his job. He must do - he's done it for eleven years, working as personal assistant to the legendary Dawn - publisher extraordinaire of Dawn Books, one of New York's hottest publishing houses. Dawn's impossible to work for, and expects total dedication, and that's why she's instructed Oscar to plan her wedding - a secret affair that only she and the fiance, hotshot NY agent Gordy Fox, know about. And is this marriage based on love, or a business merger?
What does Oscar know about weddings? Nothing. He's been single for years, although he's watched his roommates from college dropping like flies. He's become one of the assistants his ex-roommates moan about as their careers move on and up. At this wedding - Justin's - he's got to keep his eyes and ears open and take notes. His boss's nuptials are depending on it.
Sitting next to him at the reception, on the table for singles at the back of the hall, is the popular wedding columnist Lauren LaRose, with whom Oscar strikes a deal - her expertise on ministers, appetisers and centrepieces, for his editing of her gruelling monthly nuptial report. As the two work together to manufacture the romances of others, feelings between them ignite, which soon has Oscar devising a top-secret plan of his own . . .
