Founded in 1981 by artistic director Olivier Massart, La Mode en Images has created some of the most innovative fashion shows and multimedia cultural and special events for the world's biggest names in fashion and luxury, including Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Moet and Chandon, Guerlain, Christian Dior, and Cartier. The creator of many runway extravaganzas for Fashion Week in Paris, Milan, New York, and elsewhere, La Mode en Images has also masterminded many other memorable global events, including ceremonies for the FIFA World Cup and the Eiffel Tower centennial. Journalist and critic Gilles de Bure contributes to publications as diverse as Actuel, Beaux-Arts, City, Cree, Les Nouvelles Litteraires, Le Matin de Paris, Technikart, and Vogue. He publishes articles, columns, and in-depth reports in various magazines (Air France, Keith, Numero) and writes the architecture column for Journal des Arts. He has authored some thirty books on the arts (Des murs dans la ville), architecture (Jean Nouvel, Dominique Perrault, Christian de Portzamparc, Bernard Tschumi, Claude Vasconi, Architecture contemporaine mode d'emploi), design (Radi Designers, Ettore Sottsass Junior, Roger Tallon), and illustration (L'Age d'or de l'illustration de magazine, Guy Bourdin), and has contributed to ten collective works.
