In 1997 the Government enacted the Home Building Act, a major revision of the Act previously entitled the Building Services Corporation Act. All those involved in the residential building industry, namely builders, developers, insurers, architects, legal practitioners and consumers, need to have a clear understanding of the way the Home Building Act works and the consequences of failing to comply with its provisions. Since 1997 there have been significant amendments to the Act in response to the harshness of its operation. 'Annoted Home Building Act' is a comprehensive guide to the Act, with a detailed analysis of its provisions, and consideration of the many issues which have arisen, or are likely to arise, as a result of its operation.
