In 1896 elephants at the New Delhi Zoo were observed practicing rudimentary yoga poses. Their astounded keepers encouraged this remarkable behaviour and before long, the pachyderms were demonstrating up to seven distinct poses. At the turn of the century several of these elephants were shipped on loan to zoos in the West. Zoo animals throughout the world quickly noted and mimicked the elephants' behaviour and the rest, as they say, is history. Today nearly every animal is a yoga enthusiast! Containing an hilarious collection of photographs showing a broad cross-section of animals doing yoga, this gift book is aimed at animal lovers of all ages. Coloured Illustrations
