Presenting a stunning new body of works by Hong Kong-born, Melbourne-based artist Kate Beynon, 'An-Li: A Chinese Ghost Tale' marks Art & Australia's second iteration of the Dott Tales series, following on from 'The Nightingale and the Rose'. The book is inspired by a supernatural Chinese story of two young spirits who traverse two diametric worlds, beautifully retold by Laura Murray Cree and Kate Beynon. Ranging from Taoist calligraphy and modern comic book graphics to the artist's own grandfather's scroll paintings, the works examine transcultural life and notions of hybridity in our globalised and 'mixed up' world.
