Keith Mason was told many times that he would never achieve anything. Growing up on a council estate, and being in constant trouble with the police, his teacher's told him he would end up in jail. One of his first Rugby League coaches told him he'd never play Super League. But that didn't stop him ? it was the fire he used to fuel his passion to succeed and prove them wrong! Against All Odds, Keith had a hugely successful 14-year Rugby League career with many accolades and awards, including winning the Challenge Cup with St. Helen's in 2004, playing with NRL legends, Melbourne Storm when he was just 19-years-old, and representing Wales as an international. With an amazing career, two beautiful kids, and good friends, including actor Mickey Rourke and boxer Joe Calzaghe, you'd think he'd 'have it all'. But like all of us, Keith Mason's life has been a roller coaster; with amazing highs, but also lows including, depression, addiction and mental health struggles, which have seen Keith have to reinvent himself time and time again. His unwavering faith and determination, along with the constant support of his mother in his life, has seen him through the tough times, with each blow bringing with it more resilience, strength and courage. Against All Odds, is not just a memoir of Keith's life to date, it's an inspiring reminder that we can all achieve anything we set our minds to, as long as we work hard and believe in ourselves.
