An exciting crime trilogy set in London by major new Irish writer.
This volume consists of 'A White Arrest', 'Taming The Alien', and 'The McDead', all published in the UK in the late 1990s. The trilogy is set around Brixton and follows a small group of villains and Detective-Sergeant Brant and Chief Inspector Roberts, two hopelessly corrupt and violent detectives desperately looking for a "white arrest". This is an arrest so spectacular it absolves the police involved from their earlier misdemeanours.
The books are notable for their unusually lively stories and their pacey, jagged prose, as well as the constant references to films and other parts of popular culture. They might make some readers think of 'The Bill' with a large a very large addition of sex, drugs, rock and roll and bad language.
