Livak is bored. Winter in the Kellarin colony had its amusements, but now she is becoming restless. A plan to reclaim the southern settlement established by the original colonists offers hope, but that will not be possible until the first of the season's ships arrives from the mainland.
What she doesn't yet know is that this ship is not going to arrive. And the vital trading route to Tormalin is far from secure. but this new threat to the colony is far more serious than it first appears.
