All the animals and birds seek refuge in the comfort of an old fir tree on Joe Bracken's farm. When the men from the lumber mill arrive to select trees for cutting, they leave the old fir alone, and tell Joe about it. On Christmas Eve, Joe takes his family to see the tree, and they share a special moment with the animals.
