Peter Bartholomew's is at it again when long-time friend and customer, Sarah Abrew, is standing gun in hand in the old stone Indian Tower in the woods a short distance from her house and Webster Sutton, CPA, lies dead at her feet.
No one can believe that Sarah has done such a thing, especially Peter but Sarah confesses and refuses to allow anyone to contact either a lawyer or her daughter. Indiscrepancies arise and no one believes Sarah's story but they have nothing else to go on. Peter decides to come at the Sarah problem from the other end -Webster Sutton. When things start to get dangerous Peter knows there is more to Webster and Sarah's relationship that meets the eye and it could just get him killed.
