Key phrases include 'redefine,' 'for our time' and 'incisive.' Whereas 'funny and touching' used to suffice, it is now more likely to be 'hilarious and insightful.' Occasionally publishers intervene and contribute a phrase or two. These are almost always 'For the first time' or 'How to.' Alex Buzo presents his satirical dictionary in the manner of Gustave Flaubert and Ambrose Bierce.
