A Christmas Carol is the most celebrated of the Christmas books written by Charles Dickens between 1843 and 1848. The story tells how Mr Scrooge is cured by a series of ghostly visits of his anti-Christmas attitudes and brought to a proper understanding of the meaning of Christmas.
The other stories in this volume are Chimes,The Cricket on the Hearth,The Seven Travellers and three ghostly tales - The Signalman, The Lawyer and the Ghost and A Madman's Manuscript - which, thanks to Dickens’s love of gothic horror will make the hairs stand on the back of your neck and should on no account be read after dark.
