A comedy set in New York's East Village on New Year's Eve in 1981, '200 Cigarettes' follows various couples and friends whose lives will eventually intersect that night at a party in a funky downtown loft.
Anyone who has been on the town the last night of the year knows the feeling: thoughts of past loves, uncertainty about the future, and the sense that time is running out mingle with the excitement of a cold winter night and the anticipation of a kiss when the clock strikes twelve.
In '200 Cigarettes' the evening's magic forces each character to reveal a secret or create a pact, rush towards calamity or run from danger; break up or hook up. But at the end of the story, all the characters we have met along the way will have one thing in common: all will be judged by the bright, clear light of the morning after.
