This is a highly illustrated guide to Western fashion from the 17th century to the present. Like the other books in the isms series, there is a two page spread for each movement (ism) with two large images plus a description of the main characteristics of clothing at that time, names of makers or sub-styles, and places where samples of the costumes can be viewed. There is also a chronology of the various styles.
